Daddy Day #2

DSC_0286I love it when Dad comes up to visit. He’s so wise and interesting and we can talk for hours about anything and everything. He arrived Tuesday night and we headed back so he could see the finished flat. We had a delicious dinner or steak pie and sticky toffee pudding finished off nicely with a bottle of wine (which I can finally drink and enjoy… I’m becoming a grown up!) I stayed at a hotel with Dad so we could have a TV evening and then get up and go the next morning. DSC_0242We visited Montgomery’s in the morning for breakfast. Dad had french toast with sausage and I had blueberry buttermilk pancakes… SO GOOD! I love going out for breakfast and brunch. It’s such a lovely way to start the day, eating good food and having a catch up with a friend or loved one. We played bananagrams (Dad beat me… twice!) which is the best game ever. Hayls got it for me for my birthday and I so love it. It’s great for Mum because whenever we play Scrabble she takes soo long to make her words. With this, you can make your own grid so she can take all the time she wants and probably loose in the process, ahaha! The picture above was Dad setting up an artistic shot.DSC_0280 DSC_0264 DSC_0272We visited House for an Art Lover. I went over summer (shared my visit here) and really wanted to take Dad. We always snap pictures when he’s up so this was a perfect spot to go to do just that. It has really interesting audio guides too and only takes about an hour and a half to wander round if you just wanted to fill a quick morning and afternoon. You can take your time though, and it’s a great spot to relax and spend a day out. The cafe-restaurant is also delicious with a really reasonably priced two or three course set menu.

Even though it was a short visit, I had the most lovely time with Dad. I don’t see him anywhere near as much as I’d like so it’s lovely when I am up or he is down.

Thank you for travelling up, Daddy-o, I love you loads ❤

Kath xx

  1. Awwe this is so sweet, I see my dad a lot but I don’t have the best relationship with him. Your post is making me think I really need to change that and appreciate the moments I have with him!

    • Aww, I’m sorry to hear that! Just having dinner is such an awesome chance to chat and catch up, it’s wonderful 🙂 Playing games over food is always a good way to socialize with someone I think too. Thanks for dropping by! Kath x
