I decided to do something fun and productive on my days off last week. I did the food shop, errands and so on, all the boring stuff that is actually really satisfying and kinda fun, before having a total movie chick flick marathon. I’m talking Sleepless in Seattle, 27 Dresses and Crazy, Stupid Love. It was so great!
The next day, I ran out to do errands again but decided to make the most of the day, getting my free cup of tea from Waitrose and heading to the Botanics with my book. I expected it to be autumnal and chilly but the sun was shining and I ended up with a sun burnt nose. It was so nice to be out and about without needing to actually go or be anywhere! I go to the Botanic Gardens a lot (see here, here and here) but I really do love it there. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, especially in summer when all the flowers are fully in bloom.
However, part of me was kind of disappointed it wasn’t crisp and chilly. Autumn and winter are totally my favourites and I keep getting so excited at the thought of winter coats, lots of layers, chilly noses, hot drinks, cosy evenings and festivities. Anyhow, I will move on, mostly for fear of getting hate comments and angry calls from family and friends for wishing summer away! I discovered a new (well, new to me) corner of the Botanics when I was out and couldn’t resist getting snap happy on all the beautiful flowers. Those colours are just stunning.
How do you feel about summer? Are you wishing it would stick around forever or excited for the new seasons like me?
